I think S1 red is a different shade to S2 reds?
The reds are different, S1 is Mandarin Pearlescent, S2 is Magenta Metallic.

The mileage is now 92K

Wow! Looks excellent. That also reminds me that I forgot to send you that wheel bolt.

It's just me, Ok! :D

I'm probably not going to be very popular here saying this, I love the simplicity in your Xm's
appearance in the first shots of this thread. It just so much cleaner and modern and I guess,
Xm'ish. The SEi rims make the car look underwheeled and fussier for me. Can you humour me
and take a shot of the nicely finished rim 'naked' with the centre plastic trim off? I ran a few
of my SEi's like thus with chrome caps and GSA alloy centres covering the centre hole and much
prefer that look.

I guess each to their own etc and it still looks fabulous! If that's what it looks like dirty, washed and
polished must be quite something! Look forward to seeing it in the metal sometime soon!

All the best,
Andrew

Hi Will,
Great to see the early alloys fitted, which are the most attractive and distinctive and a huge improvement on the trims in my humble opinion!! The shots reminded me of those in the Martinez/ Sauzay book (see attached).
Just one little suggestion if I may, which is that re-painting the door thin metal strips will also make a big difference to appearance and I have done mine with a spray can, after carefully masking the glass with newspaper and tape.
With regards,
Matthew T.

Ha ha, Andy, it's each to their own.

when XM's first came out I didn't like the Italia wheels, but now I do as it adds detail, I think the large disks can look a bit too bland.

The one type of wheels I don't like are the wobbly webs, I think the spokes look too heavy for an xm.

Seriously, I can't wait for a bright sunny day for some photo's, I think the wheels will look great then as the edges and caps are in sparkle silver, the grey is FTU.

Before having them refurbed I spent hours looking at XM wheel pictures and here is a car I found with the centre caps missing.

The door strips are on the 'To Do' list....I need my 'Band of Glass'... ;) They are technically Hurricane Grey, but I think matte black will be just fine.
I know where there is a car with perfect strips should I feel the need.

It was seeing the wheels on your gold car made me go for the original S1 ones.
