My white one
.
This is the one I aquired a few months ago......viewtopic.php?f=11&t=723
I aquired the car complete with a blowing exhaust manifold gasket and a suspected cylinder head gasket failure.
I couldn't find any sign of a head gasket problem, so I went ahead and replaced the manifold gasket.
It went through the MOT without any problems.

She looks good Paul,
I love white XMs with black bumpers.

Re: My white one

Thanks Robert.
I only bought it because it was white .
Mileage is around 53k.......I would have expected the gaskets to last a bit longer .
Still, I suppose age is a factor as well as mileage.

Re: My white one
I think these Xm pictured look great and I never really got on with white cars in the past; I do feel though
that where it goes wrong is where there's no definition/relief in the shape where colour coding goes bad!
As Robert says, there needs to be smart sharp looking black bumpers, door capping inserts to carry it all off.
S1 screen scuttle and mirrors may not be so practical to see out of compared to s2's but by being black define
the car's visual effect better IMHO.
I can see this thread being a white Xm owner's appreciation section all of it's own. Mind, who's brave enough to
show everyone a piccy of the fridge freezer effect of all all white colour coded s2 estate!?

White XM saloons do look good because of the floating roof.

Re: My white one
I have just noticed that Paul's XM is trying to be a stealth XM, with no badges on the tailgate, and little in the way of a front grille.

Do you think my white one would look like that if I cleaned it?

Re: My white one
.
I took off some of the trim to clean the car. It had been parked under some trees for several months and the green slime had got into every nook and cranny.
While I had the nosecone off I noticed the centre part (including the Citroen badge) of the radiator grill was held in with screws, so I removed it to see how it looked without it.
I liked it so didn't bother to put it back.
The tailgate and wing badges were a bit grubby, so I removed them too.
I don't think badges enhance the look of any car, so I'm happy to leave them off for now.
I've still got all the bits (and they're nice and clean now), so I can put them back on if I ever sell the car.
