Stored 1990 24v V6SEi ready for a new owner?

Post by d griffiths » Wed Nov 24, 2010 1:15 am

I don’t think many of these top of the range XM’s ever came to the UK and I would guess not too many are still around?
I am the third owner of this car; the first was a city gent? the second my best friend and then me. This is truly the best car I have ever had the pleasure to own and drive, my family and I have driven all over Europe in my XM and turned quite a few heads in the process.
Due to financial pressures I laid the limo up about 8 years ago. Typically Citroen XM’s were not commanding great prices and many were going to the scrap yard. Mine was immaculate with full leather, Climate Control, electric everything and the quietest most comfortable ride in the world, so I parked it in my garage, it’s been there ever since. (I didn’t lay it up because it had problems, I just couldn’t afford to run it at the time, with a young family)
Although I drove it into my garage, it hasn’t been started for about 5 years, the tyres are flat and the suspension fluid has leaked. It s not rusty and if I had the time, it would be going back on the road.
My car would be a great XM restoration project and I am not too concerned about money, let’s get this car on back on the road?

(If you want to check the car, the reg is; H326HPY)

Intriguing!

Please tell us more, preferably with some pictures and definitely with a location. If you are somewhere "up north" that would be nice change!

Really pleased you guys are interested!

Firstly after looking at some holiday photographs, realised I got the reg wrong, its H326 BTY.
My XM is in silver, with a black leather interior and it is in original condition. It has the original alloy wheels with the plastic centre discs. The car had new front suspension units fitted about a year before I took it off the road. (Including the spheres)
I have all of the documentation for the car, service records, MOT’s, bills etc, the guy I bought it from (my best mate) was always meticulous about such things and he bought the car when it was about two years old. Its service history is completely main dealer, as you can imagine some hefty bills were paid in the later years of its life!
The good news for Rob is, yes I live up North, I live at Yarm, near Stockton-on-Tees.
I will do my best to find some time to take some pics of the car; I need to move some junk around in my garage to get some decent shots.
Cheers...................Derek

That'll do for me Derek... I'm at Middleton St George! You may have seen my white XM around as I occasionally pop to Tesco in it.

I was intrigued by the title of this thread and the description of this cars alloys.

The 12v was available in SEi spec, not the 24v as it only came in one spec.

The alloys with the plastic disc over the middle were only fitted to the 12v cars, not the 24v versions.

When checking the details of the car it does show as an SEi.

I believe the car is a 12v not a 24v.

I've put a picture of each engine below so that the original poster can tell us which one his looks like:
