I did just that Paul! Wowzers. Oh i want...........I seriously want one of THOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So it's the 24v Ph 1 Manual - is that correctomondo? Or, up until what marque/date/rp number did PSA change to the more refined one.

That really did sound awesome, darn it, one of those could spell the end of the 16v.............unless Mrs B lets me keep both :o

The change was made in the 1998 model year.
There were no RHD series 2 XM V6-24v manufactured (95-97MY's) until those with the new engine/4HP20 combination in 98.
If you want a Series 2 one buy abroad and accept a LHD one.
This may also be the only way to get a cheap Mk1 one.
The odd RHD series 1 one turns up, perhaps one or two a year, but so does a large crowd of potential buyers.
The days of near perfect cars and peanut purchases are well gone in the UK.

Are you saying the PRV6 ran all the way through to 1998?

Yes, and there were a good number of LHD ones made.
Think Jorgy has posted a few times about the number of cheap sick ones on German ebay.
The Mk1 was mated to the ME5 box, the Mk2 got the MG5 box.
I think there was also a LHD version of the ESJ9 mated to the ML5 box.

Hi Geoff,it's auto. The module is solder spliced into the ecu harness close to the connector and tucks in the ecu box. There is an on/off switch if you wish. After some initial trials to find a setting to suit i've settled for a position just over halfway. This maintains smoothness with a useful performance lift.Particularly noticeable on uphill, windy stretches with reduced downchanges. The upper adjustment region gives huge grunt, but noisy and jerkiness on the overrun,so really unuseable in that range.
I had the pleasure of a run in Assichs' 24v with hp20,super smooth although revvy in comparison, and too complex for me.

The 12v still has a great noise, and as my signature says - Only the V6 has that noise...!

The 24v S1 PRV is hard to get hold of - they ALL have owners who want to keep them now...

As John says though sme do pop up.. The PRV V6 90 deg engine did last till 1998, however, it was also fitted to Renault Laguna 1 cars, and other Ren V6 models of that eira along with failing ZF auto box's...
