Yes of course Volvo used it, Hence the PR(V)..

Volvo then pulled out of the ES series project, leaving it to just Pug/Cit and Renault...

Volvo went for straight six for the 960 series.

Yes, they had pulled out of the Following project... not sure whos engines they are, though the 740's 6 cylinder DER engine is a VW unit, prone to head failiures...

Anyone know whos they were??

I thought the Volvo straight six was their own unit, maybe not.

They USED to have a straight 6 in the 60's, it was in the 164 series saloon...

Then they went to the PRV project...

Im assuming the stright 6 is not theirs..

Thanks for all the info. LHD could be a cheeky option, more spares options perhaps? As Duke has pointed out, if a 12v comes up, then you got to grab it! It'll have to be a manual though.................

Be interesting to see what that German V6 goes for....

Manual 12v V6's are almost as rare as the 24v Manual... as only early G and H reg ones were has standard, then almost all after that were autos...

Autos are PERFECTLY fine if the box has been WELL cared for with pleanty of fluid changes... if the box is smooth keep ontop of the fluid changes and it should be fine...

Same here. Buy it and either convert it to RHD or rip the guts out and shove them into a Series1 and punt the rest off.

There is logic there, a series 1 is lighter so quicker...and more stylish... :lol:
