I confess to having always preferred Citroens phase 2 of most models (BX, XM, Xantia, DS (well, the one with the non frogeye style lamps - later ones - you know what I mean)) BUT over the last year or so, I've had a hankering ofr a BX mk1 (wish I still had my Dads RIP amen etc) and since I've had Battlescar, I've been drooling and hankering for Mk1s.
So I'm with you on the MK1 prefernces.

Paul, it would HAVE to be a manual - for no other reason than being able to choose the note I want the engine to sing to me in and also to be able to blip the throttle on a change down!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dman, I think a left hooker may have it's own qualities, a certain je ne cais quois ? Yellow bulbs and the dot matrix in French for that authentic touch!!! I'd only be short of a Sexy French Bed Fox!!!!

Fortunately for us philistines the dot matrix language can be changed by altering the position of the fuses in the fusebox... Phew..having to read an English German dictionary while driving could pose a problem..

Like you I always preferred Citroens in phase 2 or later guise and often felt that the original versions weren't finished...however the XM is different, because it just became too normal in phase2. The dashboard was Eurobox and it needs the rear spoiler to finish the rising lines. Having said that I do like the later front grille.

I prefer the S2 grill too, and yes of course, my V6 sei has this grill fitted too...
