There are lower mileage series 2 XM V6s about, but there seem to be more of these about.

Kevin Clare who wrote into the magazine for May issue, his V6 has 21K miles on it.

Well Franklin has started the ball rolling for low mileage S1 V6s.

I know of a 22,000 mile 2.0 16v Auto too.

So no lower mileage S1 V6s...unless Andrew (andmcit) has one of course!

A bit of a late post Franklin, but it was great to see another cherished early V6. Oddly enough, the si model seems much rarer than the sei. Just to pick up on the introduction of wood to the V6 sei, I have seen 'H' plate cars with wood, therefore the original all black interior on the V6 12v top spec model must have only lasted about one year. As Paul (Citroen XM) points out, various other features from the 24v, ie. the adjustable armrest, sports alloys, coloured bumpers and mirrors, all eventually filtered down to the 12v, and then onto the 2.0 sei turbo model. The engine bay on your car looks immaculate and the nicest I have seen, but just a couple of things, firstly the water tank overflow pipe wants moving back I think (against the engine mount) and secondly you need a set of original red ht leads, which I could probably help you with for a modest sum!! Hope to see more photos of the car outside (Triton Green?) and meet you with the car at the National. With regards, Matthew T.

Thanks Matthew, and yes you're right - there's not too many Si's about nowadays. Thanks for the comments regarding underneath the engine bay - I've not yet finished underneath there yet so I will hopefully get around to that once I have put some new front spheres on it. Then I can finish the outside off and take some more pictures of it - quite correct with the colour too! Triton Green. Yes, I spotted the tank overflow pipe and I must have knocked it there when I was cleaning! :) Didn't know about the HT leads being red, but if I decide to change I'll let you know! All things being well, it will be at the National. Not too long now really. :D

My 24v S1 has currently got Black HT leads, though in my shed Ive found a set of Red leads.. (24v leads are different to 12v leads) so when I get my engine cover, I then want to clean up my Front rocker cover, also to fix an oil leak... theres no gaskets for the PRV its all Sealeant in a Tube job... then clean up this set of red leads and fitthem back on...

The red leads on the engine covers look well, and stand out well....

Here is a recent photo of my not quite so clean 12v manual engine bay with the red ht leads! As Paul comments, the original leads do stand out and look well, especially on the 24v lump!! With regards, Matthew T.
