It's finally happened (or very nearly so...)

The place to show off and tell us all about your XMs (or even other cars). Should it be a big project, or just some general pics, start your thread in here.

It's finally happened (or very nearly so...)

Post by CitroJim » Tue Jul 19, 2011 12:48 pm

After years of dedicated Xantia ownership, all being well, I'm about to become an XM owner.

I blame Paul, Robert, Matthew and Will for this, most especially Will at the National for allowing me a drive of his Colbalt.

I have just completed negotiations to purchase a 1999 Mauritius Blue XM V6 with a very sick gearbox. I've not seen the car in the metal but I do know the current owner. I must say his timing of offering it for sale just after the National was a master-stroke on his part

In fact this was precisely how I came by my first Xantia V6. Bought with a very sick gearbox...

To me, a sickly 4HP20 gearbox is not a problem.

Now, if anyone happens to have an empty car transporter and is planning a trip from Glasgow to Milton Keynes in the next few days, let me know ;)

Congrats on the purchase Jim - it sounds like the perfect car for you.

Well done Jim, welcome to the club(s). You are only just in time, a few more weeks and there won't be any left! :o. Not a 2.1 V6 is it? :D

Mauritius blue is possibly my favourite XM colour, they look fantastic when polished up.

Obviously I should have let you drive my Mandarin one last year... ;)

Ohhh.. even I felt the knife slide in then....

I now seriously regret not buying the S2 Exclusive car I was offered a couple of years ago. It was identical to Davetherave's car, but with blown HG, Hydractive stuck in hard and various other gremlins, but it started and ran well and had very little rust...a small bit on the front doors where the seals fit.
