Well done Franklin and looks like a nice example of the early Prestige and also good to have the history. I think the colour might actually be Anthracite, a more bluey grey that I have on my almost contemporary 1992/3 2.0sei turbo (see below), rather than Meteor Grey, which is more of a gun metal colour and only used on earlier cars. It is interesting that the car was registered as late as 1993, since I thought the first Prestige was brought in just before the 2.0 turbo around early/mid 1992 to help shift the older non-turbo cars! My guess is that during 1992-3 not many XMs were selling after all the initial hype and teething troubles and your car sat around in a showroom for a bit. In the case of my 1992 sei, there was about eighteen months between manufacture and registration!! All the best with the work planned and hope you can bring the car to the 'X' rally. Thanks Matthew, and the history is certainly part of the car! I was slightly confused about the colour too - I must first admit that I was under the impression it was Green but in all fairness it was about 3 years ago that I last saw it! I was pleasantly surprised when I saw it was Grey as I must say I'm not a huge fan of Green. En-route home I was flicking though the Service History and saw the paintcode - a quick google turned out it was indeed Meteor Grey. It probably doesn't help that the photos aren't the best as they're only taken on my phone and generally like to come out dark!

Regarding work on the Prestige, I might get some done this week although the red Visa GTi is taking up most of the time ATM...

I am intrigued about the colour Franklin, because it does looks very similar to my contemporary 2.0sei turbo (RP 5806). The paint code for my car is ETC and in the maintenance book has been written 'Silicon Grey', although somewhere I recall reading 'Anthracite' was correct. After reference to my collection of early brochures, Meteor Grey is replaced by Silicone in early 1992. With regards, Matthew T. PS. For Robert the shot of your car is at the 2009 CXM.

Just found a good website, www.uniquecarsandparts.com, with paint colour code details and Meteor Grey is listed as EYY and used from 1989-91, while ETC is actually Basalt Grey and used from 1992! Regards, Matthew T.

I've just dug out the service book for the Prestige Matthew and the paint code is ETW. When on the way home I plumbed into Google on my phone the search "Citroen XM Paint Code ETW" and I got the Halfords site that said Meteor Grey. Link.

In other news, I now have a very good front wing and nosecone in Black, so will swap those over and then can get them sprayed whenever the time is right...
