I am still a bit confused Franklin, mainly because the website I looked at lists ETW as Silicone Grey in use from 1996 and in my 1990 Thatcham repair book (relevant page attached) ETW is called Mercury, although at least they both agree Meteor Grey is EYY!! Sorry if I seem to be ranting on, but I just wonder which source is correct. It is good news that you have suitable bits to improve the bodywork anyway. Regards, Matthew T. PS. I have found Mercury with Meteor Grey in a 1991 XM brochure and it is much darker and almost black. Interestingly Mercury is in the 1992 brochure but Meteor is replaced by Silicon as earlier stated.

Sorry Franklin, here is a better link to the earlier website: http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/co ... itroen.htm. Just out of interest what is the RP number of your Car? Regards, Matthew T.

It's certainly a strange one Matthew, although once I get some better pictures and I've given it a good polish to get it shining again, hopefully the colour will be easily definable! Either that or when at the X Rally I'm sure we'll work it out!

Just thought I'd update this "unexpected turn of events" thread about my Prestige. Admittedly nothing much has really happened, except it's back from being in storage and now rather dusty. Bizarrely it had developed an "egg" on the tyre so that has been changed so it's nice and safe now - must have been when Gordon kept going up onto the kerb!

I'm looking forward to going through this Prestige (probably this summer) and getting it looking how I want it to look. Obviously due to the family connections I'm sure you'll be pleased to hear I won't be selling it (it's unrepeatable!) however I do plan so "personalisations" to it as it's a "keeper". Nothing too overboard but I have got some plans...

Matthew, as it's back I remembered to have a look for the RP Number for you and it is "5694". Looking at the paint colour again it is nearly black in colour so I'm pretty sure it is Meteor Grey.

Just realised that there isn't a picture from the front of it, so here's a (small) picture. More pictures will follow at some point, when I've got it looking more respectable!

I do like the spec on this Prestige too - Air, Roof and Leather. Those in the know will know the reference of that saying... ;)

Very nice Car there, i look forward to seeing how you get on with her, almost the twin of mine too, mine was made on the 26 May 1992 and yours looks like 11 June 1992 so they probably sat together in the factory carpark, must reunite them later in the year ;)

What are you thinking of doing Franklin?

Paul has a XM body kit that would look cool. Maybe he would be willing to sell.

I think a Vinyl wrap in satin black with some bigger Volvo rims would look cool.

Your car is too dark to be meteor grey. My old G plate Si and my BX are meteor grey.

Thanks Dean - I'm amazed that they are so close together RP Wise especially considering there's not many Prestige's left! Looking at Matthew's S1 Register they're the only two on there for the forum. How Many Left reckons just 14. :o

Well I've got some plans Robert to change it's appearance a bit. Funny you should mention Paul's Bodykit as that is something I would quite like to see on the Prestige so hopefully he'd be willing to part with it. This leads nicely onto what my main plan is, and that as I will end up going painting the whole car due to little bits and pieces I have decided that I will have it painted Black. Luckily as it's dark grey (I'm still confused at the colour now, so I'm just calling it dark grey...) the shuts and underbonnet will not show as they're basically black anyway. That's Gloss Black, not Satin BTW Robert... ;)

IMO Big Citroen's always look best in Black, so coupled with the Black Leather, Air and Roof it'd be pretty much perfect for my liking spec and looks-wise. I think that if I can source a bodykit that will just top it off looks-wise for the look I'm after - nothing too out of the way but something a bit different... Not sure about wheels yet...it's got the Wobbly Webs on it ATM that aren't too bad but will probably end up changing them. I'll have to fire up Photoshop at some point to see what some look like... Also a total revisit of the sound system in it too - the original system isn't the best... :|

The paint code is on the inner wing behind the n/s headlight, alternatively post the VIN up and we can check.
