Looking through my old photo's I came across a gorgeous dark red 6-headlammp XM series 1 with very nice 5 spoke alloys, K391YBH. Obviousl a car that had love lavished on it.

Was it yours Dean? or was it Lez's?

Hi Dean,

It looked Concourse de Elegance before, what's it going to be like after you've re-furbed it?

Pretty much like it was but a bit newer ish, the full list (as much as i can remember) is

Leather door cards
shot blasted and Colour coded brake callipers
Colour coded rocker and auto gearbox cover
Doors, boot, floor, tailgate, bonnet, bulkhead, transmission(less) tunnel, roof have had closed cell ecoustic insulation and or bitumen sheet applied, all bitumen has been oversprayed with stone chip and then dusted with colour for a factory finnish.
New arb bushes
New strut tops (because i managed to get some for very little to see if ageing of the rubber makes much difference to ride)
4 new tyres all round (prob mich)
ALL cavities (there are a bloody lot when you start looking) including subframes opened up, pressure washed inspected and heated whilst applying heated cavity wax
Underside of the car steam cleaned and stripped of old underseal in places, new seam sealer applied and 3 coats of stone chip applied all whilst subframes are off.
new A/C condenser
Wiper motors stripped and lubed
New sphere's all round
New windscreen
New glove box strut
New glove box catch
new speedo cables

I wont continue, you will only get bored
This is my favourite photo of her anyway, cant wait to get it back on the road again.

Your going to end up with an XM that everyone wishes they had the time to spend on theirs Dean. I'm sure it is going to look amazing once it's all back together.

Yes Paul i never bothered in the end, i itched that scratch with a 190bhp Xantia Activa TCT, unfortunatly sold a few weeks ago. I shall be sticking with the n/a engine.
