Today my new ABS front sensor arrived. 33 euro's, not bad I would think.
I plan just to reconnect the battery and change the bloody thing.
Will this do the trick I wonder or do I have to reset with a lexia.

I would love to buy a Lexia but am afraid to buy the wrong one. I don't trust the Chinese ones. Also I have no windows XP even though apparently you can download something to make it work on windows 7. Gonna have a look for one online still. Wish me luck!

No, on the XM Captin, you will NOT need the lexia.. If the light stays on, dont be disheartend, some systems you need to go over 15mph before the light will go out...

Thats all...

So I did today change that sensor: these sensors seem to sort of become one in their little hole, took me quite some time to get the old one out. Anyway, after 10 metres driving the bloody dashboard warning light went out! Success at last!

So I thought that is a good reason to get a really posh dinner on the table.
So driving to the supermarket, the bloody light went out as it should.
But on the way home, it came on again. Bloody hell...so I stopped the car and switched the engine off, re started and no light, all well again.

I now suspect the left one but thankfully Eli zabeth insisted on buying two of these bloody sensors so I have another brand new one at home that I might as well put in.

Hey, we'll done Jaap. But you are driving an XM...it is to be expected something annoying would happen like this. Hope the other sensor will cure your problem.

There's an awful lot of 'bloodys' in that last post of yours Jaap

I know how you feel. ABS problems make you feel like that and indeed, as Russ says, it is an XM after all

Likewise, hope the second sensor fixes it :)

Jaap,

Glad you got it sorted, send my regards to Liz! Your other blue XM never gave me one hint of ABS trouble! I hope she does the same for you (when you get round to using her)!!

Regards back! Told you that blue one was a great deal but came just a bit too early! Your ol' one has a worse system, or so I believe - bendix: how hard was it to find one of those sensors....
