Just run a strong dose of injector cleaner through and it should clean them up.

My Merc E300 did a similar thing when I switched to Veg and only shunted the car around for two weeks. It never had SVO in it again. I wouldn't be surprised if the rings are sticking a bit, the Merc had noticeably more blow-by, which cleared up again once on diesel.

Well done Paul and it is handy to have spare bits of bodywork lying around for these repairs! With regards, Matthew T.

I have been useing Xantia s2 body work.. Appears to be far superior to xm metal work.. The coating of protection on the xantia is amazing.. You dont realise it untill you start cleaning the part up with the grinder and the layers become apparent..

Sadly im running out of sections ... But will possibly have some c5 metal sections next!!!

Final incarnation of K Ban before she leaves me again..

The wheel bearing has arrived and that ill get fitted to a hub and onto the car over next two weeks.. While the other option was asked to kit her out.

Leather, electric arm rest and wood effect door cards.. While i was in there with the cloth seats out i had to swap the carpet over to another..

Image

What ever was on the carpet had ruined it.. But it was like that when she originally arrived with me..

Anyway.. Job almost done.. Seats and three door cards in.. The option of swap to black carpet was offered but declined and asked to stay grey..

Leather looks better then it is by that i mean a few efforts of leather treatment should see it nice again. Its not ripped just been in storage a while..

Comming along nicely..

I like the contrast between the carpet and the seats, breaks it up a little. What colour is the roof lining?

Makes it look a different car. Lot of work gone into it this time Paul; let's hope you don't get it back again. ;)

Now who keeps telling me that leather would look good in my Xantia?

Good job. Is the sill of an XM very compartmentalized as the CX is? It reminds me I really should have a look inside mine now. What did you treat the inside of the welded part with first?
One of my xantia s2 had no rust until the end of it's life however the breaks are known to rust at the rear end of their sills as well, partly due to a construction fault and inferior steel.

The roof lining is grey ah la carpet... Makes the car a bit lighter inside really..

I use Hammerites Kurust treatment on the inside.. Let it go off and then seal up..

The cills are very open, access to them is in the rear arch and with the back wheel off you can shine a torch and look straight through to the front.
