There is someone breaking a k reg XM on e bay. Good chance it will still have a compatible complete interior. It might even have been a 2.0 8v as well.

Do you mean this one? He wants £100 for the alloys with knackered tyres and £25 for the spoiler! Daren't ask about the interior.

I've seen this one too. Looks like the same colour as mine too...although they aren't the best photos.
Pity...the gearbox with only 100 miles since rebuild.
You could try asking for fun!!!

That's the one. £100 for good starfish alloys like that is pretty fair. They are most sought after. Spoiler is a bit dear when its the wrong colour. If it has a cloth interior then you are going to be his only client.

Keep the cloth upholstery. I have had both and can report that the leather is much less pleasant and acoustically "harder" or harsher. I would much prefer cloth and once the children grow up I'll have cloth (Romana velour) put in instead. My car is also gold but not original. I had it resprayed Volvo Maya Gold in 2010. Go to Car Magazine's website and put 1990 Citroen XM into the search box to see it.

Got to admit Richard, leather is excellent when there's young children around - so easy to clean...

There's no denying the practicality of the leather seating. Kids would quickly spoil the cloth if the kids in question are under, say, eight. The cloth is nicer though and if one doesn't have small kids it's preferable: cooler in summer, warmer in winter and it has a nice acoustic effect too. This is all theoretical for me. The youngest is 1 so it'll be 2021 by the time I can consider installing the cloth! The car will be 31 by then.

Leather was always regarded as the workmans seat cover and velour the luxury cover.

only in the UK is leather regarded highly.

Very true I suppose, look at old Rolls Royces from the 20's for example...driver has leather, hard wearing and weather proof and the lucky owner has Velour.

I got in the C5 on Sunday just to move it, bloody freezing leather seats!!
