Yeah a XM with BX running gear. I wonder how these POV non hydractive xms compare to the CX in terms of comfort and 'handling'!?

Quite possible, but the engine is so full of gunk and crap I can't really tell yet.
I might have a load cover, but the hinge part may be worn out (they tend to do that). I probably have some wheel-trims spare too, but am less keen than Paul to part with them.
Finding some Romana velour is going to be like looking for a needle in a haystack.
The hinges on the cover are fine, the cover itself is so filthy it's not worth the hassle. Swap the hinges to a decent cover?

I do like the trims that Paul may have, and they fit the age of the car, but am not against another style.

The cloth interior is the bit that I'm slowly coming to understand is going to be a pain to find. I could find a decent leather interior fairly easy but should this model have leather in it?

In the 1990's I think Leather Was an Option along with S1 Alloys, but standard on the SEi trim...

So It could have the leather...Annoying, Ive chucked this type of trim away before now. My recent SD rear seat is a little green from when the window was stuck half open (fixed now).. Possibly a good "Vince" on it may sort that out, along with what looks like a layer of Wax on the carpet in the same foot well (rear drivers side) ..

Anyway, back to your gold car... Do you want me to set aside 4x trims?? Ill PM a price to you..

At this stage I would personally be keener to get a matching interior of any description to tidy the car up.

I'm not against having a leather interior . . . certainly be easier to source.

Yep I'll have four of the trims that you hate. 8-)

What about France for sourcing a better interior? Bit of a treck I know, but more chance getting something over there than here...unless you are lucky enough someone here is breaking an XM with the correct interior of course.
