Today found a bonnet release cable change note.
This was at ORGA 5174.
Up to this point the cable joint was under the air filter box, battery side.
Citroen then changed the cable lengths to move the joint up near the strut head.
That is the cable from the lever was shortened and the cable at the latch end made longer.
Cable routing remains the same just the joint position changes.

They then go on to mention that while it is not possible to use the old and new short cables it is possible to use old and new long ones.
To do this the cables are moved over to run alongside the inner wing so the cables and joint are located to the outer side of the air filter.

Source of information page 121 of the March 1992 Citroen XM Brochure.

I knew about this change for some time.. I needed a replacement for my 24v before I had the masses of spares I have now and went to the dealer. It was then that I was told mine wasn't available but a replacement was and I had to buy both parts.. I think they moved the join back to a dryer area to help prevent corrosion..

Alas I now have a couple of sets of them that will show up again soon.

An episode on another forum made me pull away from all the forums I'm registered with and assess what I really wanted from them. The answer was that I'm much happier working on my own with forums used only when necessary

I was like that for years.. Then I put a lot up but now again I'm not so sure I do a lot and not post.. When time permits. For example I've done an autobox swap on an S2 plus other bits but not made any posting about it..

All the alloy bits were removed, vapour blasted and replaced with new gaskets, seals and fixings. All vacuum and fuel pipes replaced, new coil pack, leads, plugs. Fuel injection system stripped down and refurbed. Radiator and LHM tank removed and flushed. Alternator, starter motor, hydraulic pump refurbished. ECU box replaced with one that actually fits together and a shed load more - and that's just in the engine bay.

(The last picture is not the end product)

No, no, someone who knows what he's doing is at this. He's done shed loads of bodywork and paint for me and I know what to expect.

Ideally my 24v v6 will need this sort of thing. But I'll never be able to afford it. It will finish her off perfectly Neil.
