They are still original. ;)

The car was polished with Farecla G3 1x,then with Sonax Metallic High Gloss polish & wax 1x.Before polishing, the paint was covered with a little tiny scratches all over the car.Now it is a lot,lot better...almost invisible and the shine is almost perfect. ;)

About wheels...i'm planning to replace them with Volvo's 16" Persus wheels from my 850 and to buy the other set of 17" Volvo "R" wheels for my 850.So far i like those wheel trims on my Xm.

Clear coat on nose cone started to peel and it will be professionally re-painted soon.

Almost forgot...since back-up lights are so bad on these cars,i installed led bulbs. They have a socket just like standard bulb but have 12 white diodes each.Even with those leds,back-up lights are nothing special but a lot better than with standard bulbs:

Driver's seat was replaced with a good one (old one had snaps at stitches):

Also...factory clamps at LHM tank were replaced with worm type clamps and there are no leaks since:

I like the LED reversing lights Misha, I often toyed with the idea of upgrading.

That said, the existing lights, although not very bright, I find highlight the dark tint of the boot strip quite nicely, not sure brighter ones would still do that.

I suppose in terms of functionality it's hard to gauge them, the lights on most cars are far too high to provide any real illumination advantage to the driver and seem to serve more as an indication to surrounding people that the car is going backwards.

Only exceptions I can think of where they're actually useful for lighting dark spots behind would be the Mx1/2 Ford Focus perhaps, which have them right at the bottom corner of the bumper where they will light up uneven kerbs and low bollards etc at night.

Then again on the latest version they have 'improved' that design again and moved them back into the main light cluster.

Above all else, I think the XM's reversing lights look very cool and in fact they were one of the things that drew me to the car as a young kid (along with the triangular rear indicators:D).

I like the idea as well, especially since I need to reverse in the dark a lot.

Your XM is coming up nicely Misha. Nice job. I like the tinted rear windows, I think a subtle tint does improve the sleekness of the car.

I love the separate light panel too, it makes the back so unusual, but totally practical too. I find the reversing lights are brilliantly placed and the indicators are nice and high for following drivers. I would like to experiment and see if a third brake light can be hidden in there between the reversing lights. All you need is a strip of red LEDs ..... He says!
