Hi Jaap

I thought the sender unit on the header tank is for coolant level not temperature.
Temperature senders on most XM's are on the engine.

John is correct and there should be a thermistor on the engine, possibly alongside the water temperature sender. On the PRV V6 they are together on a water pipe near the pump. Regards, Matthew T.

Thank you both, it did cross my mind briefly but I somehow discarded that idea since that sender unit on the header tank is so full of electronics..I will now go and search for the thermistor and give it some vaseline and will let you know how I get on.

Stay put for issue number 2, early morning tomorrow..

Issue 2 well, it's something wobbling when accelerating under power turning right.

So yes, I've checked wheels, tyres, wheelnuts, driveshaft nuts, driveshafts but I can't really find anything wrong. I did however hit the gearbox on the ground and it seems lower so I've been spending a long time finding engine-gearbox mounts. I've finally ordered them, of course the second wasn't in stock (as was advertised) so I bought the gearbox mount elsewhere and they also now have stock faults :( I am now offered the same gearbox mount of an unknown brand to me namely: corteco or sasis. I had ordered a febi. Has anyone ever heard of coreco or sasis? I want to swap the mounts a.s.a.p. and maybe source better quality later on. I know maybe I should have gone to the citroen dealer but I cannot find enough time and courage to do so....

I think that both of those brands are fairly widely distributed on mainland Europe. The only Corteco parts I have used are Peugeot 605 pollen filters for my XM, and they seem OK.

I've googled them in the mean time so I'll go with sasis for now..I know none of them will be as good as original.

I hope I will receive those mounts before my next France trip.

Does anybody have any idea what happens with an auto car with too much autobox oil in them?

A mess! Good question,... would it start to blow seals bit like an engine?

Overpressure I believe, and probably blow seals like Russ says, I wouldn't chance that for long at all Jaap.

I won't chance it, trouble is it is not my car:) It did however make me check mine, it's hard to read at the best of times.
