I had to buy another 10mm socket of the type mentioned by Jim to cope with the manifold nuts but in the end used a ring spanner on all but one. My first XM, a 2.0 VSX, developed a cracked turbo that I understand is quite common although the noise went away when the engine warmed up, whereas in this case there was no change which pointed to the gasket. It certainly made a big difference to the sound and performance with the new gasket fitted! Regards, Matthew T.
