The manual gearbox is less likely to give trouble Will I agree and could be better to drive in the Alps, although ultimately most spares are interchangeable! I agree with Chris that it is possible to quite quickly adapt to different driving positions. Although you do have to be careful, I daily manage to switch back and forth between sides, while I have lost the occasional wing mirror glass on narrow country lanes! I think driving in France with a rhd car is probably easier than the other way around, given the generally lighter traffic, apart from in central Paris perhaps!! For tool booths and car parks at least there will be a co-pilot! With regards, Matthew T.

Bit of a dilemma, both would be nice. See your point about the Poland car being a bit more delicate.
But wouldn't the manual be a little more efficient and better in the Alps?

I am pleased to report another year's ticket has just been secured as the car returns to the road after a winter rest! There were just two advisories on corroded front and rear brake pipes that was no big surprise. Altogether quite encouraging for a 29-year old car. With regards, Matthew T.

Was thinking the car, but a well behaved garage helps too!

I could not resist taking and posting this photo with the sunshine we have had today. After the cars return to the road I did a couple of small jobs yesterday including changing the glove box catch and speed sensor interface. I fitted my electro-valve indicator light for the first time and there was some erratic behaviour with the suspension sticking in soft that now appears to be resolved. With regards, Matthew T.

Sticking in Soft??? Lucky you - it's normally unwanted Firm that's the problem.
Are you finding the LEDs informative?

Many thanks Chris and the electro-valve indicator light is certainly a very useful device! In this case the most responsive sensor is for the brakes and firm mode will also kick in briefly under hard acceleration and cornering, which I guess could be the steering angle and/or body movement sensors. From the Citroen testing advice sheet the accelerator pedal sensor does not appear to function at present. With regards, Matthew T.

It's looking amazing Matthew. Considering what it was like when you got it.... could argue that's brochure material now!
