As above Will.. the Harness BEHIND the dash across the front of the car for Base models and SE models....

Unbelievably, I don't have the diagram for the SE dashboard.

S or se will... just so i got the diagrams for the lh display with the outline of the car and the dot matrix.

Tell what will help immensly is english key and legend etc for the diagrams and connectors...

Hi Paul

Are the documents you now have genuine Citroen ones?
All the wiring diagrams are marked in the bottom right hand corner with the book they should be filed in.
Mk 2 - marked 8935.
Mk 1 - marked 8934. (some pages have black spots printed in front the 8934 - each spot marks an amendment to content).
older pages with less spots should be retained unless there is a capital C in front of the spot(s) to indicate the older pages are redundant.

The number in brackets in the bottom left of the page is the print run number so a different number does not mean any content difference.

Book 8934 is The Electrical Systems Repair Manual.
It is divided into 14 chapters separated by red vinyl inserts numbered 50 to 67.
50 - Vehicle general characteristics
51 - Engine
52 - Instrument panel
53 - Battery charge and engine starting
54 - Exterior lighting and signalling
55 - Interior lighting and fittings
56 - Visibility
57 - Braking system
58 - Suspension
59 - Automatic gearbox and cruise control.
63 - Seat base.
64 - Heating - ventilation and air-conditioning.
65 - Radio equipment.
67 - Doors, boot and bonnet.

Each section comprises:
- the list of electrical diagrams in it,
- circuit diagrams,
- wiring diagrams.

Beware that the same group of chapter numbers is used for the Mk2 electrical diagrams.
Double check that you are looking at a Mk1 (8934) page and not a Mk 2(8935) page.

Sheet numbers XM 500-00/1 pages 1 to 6 detail how to read the electrical diagrams.
Sheet numbers XM 501-00/1 pages 1 to 6 detail electrical part numbers.
Sheet numbers XM 501-00/2 pages 1 and 2 detail harness identification.
Then for example if you want to find a particular engine harness and wiring -
XM 510-000/1 pages index the page numbers of all the different engine looms.
For lighting and signalling harnesses and wiring -
XM 540-000/1 pages index the page numbers of the different lighting looms.

I have no idea what exactley.. all i know is they are s1 scematic diagrams with forgein legend/key..

They are all in the form of jpg pics... im getting to the point of just swapping the engine to car loom on the passenger chassis tomorrow now.. might be easyer..

Paul, *very* interesting to see that this example has a full sound insulation foam cover (in black). Mine, a td SED, only has the 2 front separate grey-ish rubber foams, after that it is bare metal!!!! I.e. when you lift the carpet (which includes, in a single piece, a white foam layer underneath), there is just metal!

This XM will be a much quieter car than mine!

What PR is it exactly? Wonder if this was added at some point as improvement.

Mine is a '92 SED and it has all the rubber sound insulation foam. I know as I have had to remove some of it to dry it out. Retched stuff supping up all that water....
It really does make a difference to noise...Only today I was thinking, this is much quieter with all the carpets and foam back in place. But mk2 are even better.
