A red herring Jim!
Even if lead was present ex factory it would have been nicked faster than an XM could depreciate.

I have done about 400 miles in the xm now, the cam belt and water pump have been changed, the oil and spark plugs and air filter have also been changed. The car has been going quite well the faults that it has at the moment are the engine management light comes on and off from time to time and at motorway speeds and sometimes stumbles.

Also the suspension works sometimes and sometimes its does not. I am going to start with the engine problems before messing around with spheres.

I will try and get some more photos of it once it has had a good wash!

Took some better photos of the car after a wash.

Also the headlining was sagging so I pulled the cloth off, put it in the washing machine which got all the backing off it that was starting to bobble and stuck it back to the headlining.

Whilst the headlining was out the sunroof come out as it was seized up and i thought the cause of my leak. Cleaned ip and lubricated and now works correctly.

At the moment the interior is out of the car and looks somthing like this minus the console

It turns out water is getting in somewhere on the front wheel arch on the passenger side I did have the inside of the arch welded would this have somthing to do with it? Has anyone else had this problem?

Hopefully will be able to put an end to it tommorow if i get a chance to get on it.

Water can trickle down under the a pillar trim and collect in the footwell... And get soaked up by the foam. Took mine two weeks in the bath to dry out!

CHECK the drain area under the trim scuttle.. if the drain hole on the passenger side is blocked water can build and spill in through the Blower Air Intake Hole....

You know where I mean, under the grey trim that runs along the bottom of the windscreen... passenger side..

The welding that was done was under the scuttle panel and the drain hole was blocked by the plate they put over it. I have since drilled a hole through it so the water has somewhere to run to. Also when we were spraying the windscreen with the hose thats when the water started coming into the car.

The foam has been indoors for a week now and is just about dry. Only problem is I cant get the foam out that goes up underneath the dash.
