Hi XM-friends.

I have been asked to receive the baton, and take command of the next stage (3.rd) of this phenomenal car; Mme Vert :)
She has only 19k km on the meter, newer on the road between oktober / may. (no winter tyres ;-) )
Always served by the same Citroèn mechanic who bought her 1997 and now sell it to me.

Mme was orginally equipped with autobox, but now rebuildt to manual (Me5T).
Last total service incl. all new original spheres, brakes, ign. and inject, a totally new R-134a AC and new heater /radiators.

Before any "problems" accured; the lifting points (front) and the joints between front fender and sills was modified and strengthened not to collect dirt and create rust.
The under body have been coated from day one.

No timing belt and no autobox to worry about.....................just..........

What a wonderful Xm 25th Anniversary :!:

Sorry for the pictures. (Made by Samsung Smartie)
I will follow up with more pics. and a "picking up story" primo august.

PS. The red -98 V6 Break will undergo a refurbish during the loooong winter nights ( i.o.w. the night between 1. nov. and 1. april :o :?: )

Edit: Some of the bad grammar and a fault in description............

She is amazing Vieil. You must be absolutely smitten with it. What a stunning car. I do like the cream leather interior, a very rare feature.

A very nice looking car. I hope it gets driven (occasionally).

I am bit puzzled by your statement that it originally had an automatic transmission, as the figures here, indicate that there were no 24V autos until 1995.

It is also wearing standard V6 badges rather than the V6 24V ones. Unless that's a country and marketing thing.

A picture of the engine bay would reveal all.

I'm sorry Mr. Xantia. You are absolutely right. She has the 125 kW 12 valve engine  ;)

Welcome to the Forum Vieil and I too am very much smitten with the S1 V6!! The early Exclusive here was badged V6sei and as stated by Russ we very rarely see the cream leather. As a slightly later 12v yours has the coloured bumpers and mirrors originally just fitted to the 24v and the headlight washers must be aftermarket. It is impressive that someone took the trouble to convert from auto to manual and especially after only 19K! Regards, Matthew T. PS. Where are you located by the way?

Hi again Vieil,
Here is a photo of my slightly earlier lhd 24v imported from Hamburg, Germany in 2012. The car has covered around 160K and needed quite a lot of tidying up, although the bodywork had no rust and mechanically she was very sound.
Regards,
Matthew T.

Thanks MTXM. It is a wonderful car with a very speciel history. The Cit.mecanic prefered to take the job converting to manual even if the autobox was running smoothly ;) He told me: Better sooner than later :)
B.t.w. I bought a new XM 1992 2.0 aut and had that car for 4 yrs. untill a lorry hit me from behind at a red light stop in Oslo. Car shortened by 1 meter, and without air bag my right knee is still a bit troublesome. (The car could partially be living in an other one.........)

I am not shure of all details of the modifications (?) I will get all the details from the prior owner and clear it out here together with pics. from a proper photoshoot.

I am a norwegian, born in England just after WWII (at RAF Wyton Base, Huntingdon) now living in Bohuslän, Sweden. As you understand; family moved back to Norway before I started school
