That must be very pleasing fixing the suspension issue with such a simple fix. This car is really proving itself now, it keeps getting better and better. :)

Those inner wing earth points do benefit from being sorted: the early push-on type were all trouble (BX had the same type iirc), and their bolt-down replacements never had their bodypaint removed before assembly.

Many thanks Russ, although it was a bit dim of me not to give thorough attention before now! Ironically my four other early cars still have the original earth plugs Chris that seem to work okay! After all the previous pain it is certainly satisfying to have the car performing well and the only current issues of which I am aware are a slight drip on the steering ram return pipework and a headlight full beam switch fault. The car is continuing to give sterling service throughout the winter - on the whole - with quite a few more mile covered! After saying that, I did experience quite a major issue recently when the engine wiring harness burnt out, which appeared to have been caused by a short circuit on the oxygen sensor circuits. Fortunately only the harness was effected and very luckily I was not far from home and also had a spare that was fitted by the roadside!
I more recently noticed a slowly increasing rumble from the front end, which I initially thought was engine, exhaust or gearbox related, but I then realized a worn nearside front wheel bearing was to blame. In the snow yesterday I changed the wheel hub with a low mileage spare that has transformed the driving experience!
