Re: S1 V6 auto back on the road at last!! - Problem solved!!
On a more positive note I am pleased to report that after completing 2,000 trouble miles through France the car has just passed a further MoT with no advisories! As it happens I recently had a rat nesting under the bonnet of my garaged Germany car, although fortunately the only damage appears to be to the lining material! With regards, Matthew T.

There you go . . Use them, and they thrive. Lay 'em up, and they get eaten!
What a good way to top-off 2000miles through France.

Looks fab as ever! Still my favourite model / colour / wheels. Trip to France next year to find similar I feel.
My black LHD PRV will suffice in the meantime!
Glad you are now able to enjoy it.
Regards, Andy

Many thanks for your kind remarks Andy and I would certainly recommend a trip to France after our recent experience, although there were disappointingly few XMs to be seen! If you are looking for another lhd V6 it may be better to try Germany, including this tempting example currently on mobile.de: https://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/deta ... .modelId=2" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: S1 V6 auto back on the road at last!! - Problem solved!!
I spent a little time on the car last weekend and thankfully I appear to have resolved two further issues, one recent and the other ongoing!
Since my acquisition about seven years ago operation of the suspension has never been 100%, since the ride was mostly soft, but would then periodically become stuck in a firm setting. After stopping and restarting the car or disconnecting the hydractive ecu or the battery, normal service was resumed, so I just accepted the shortcoming. As a further experiment I then removed and thoroughly cleaned and refitted each engine bay earth and after two days of use amazingly all now seems to be well! The original earth plugs had already been removed with individual spades fitted and bolted direct to the body that seemed a decent job, but weirdly additional earth wires were then installed between the connectors and adjacent strut top fixings!
At the end of the 2,500 mile Challenge across France a slight drip of lhm had developed around the accumulator/fdv area, which after inspection actually appeared to be coming from somewhere above the assembly. There was clearly a low pressure pipe and/or connector at fault, given the relatively small loss, and following detailed investigation I discovered that the small clear nylon pipe across the gearbox was to blame. Somehow the pipe had become damaged and appears melted/clamped, against which a fine hole eventually formed.
Regards,
Matthew T.
