24v Pallas treatment!!

Post by MTXM » Tue Nov 04, 2014 8:56 pm

I should have posted this before but here is a brief report on my visit to Pallas Finishes. A couple of weeks ago I arranged to meet Vince in Manchester as I had for some while hoped to have the car machine polished after some earlier repainting, which vastly improved the appearance but created a contrast with the original paintwork that had the usual fine scratches. It was an interesting experience for me overseeing some of the work and I cannot speak highly enough of the effort and application Vince made in undertaking the task. The car was very thoroughly cleaned before the polishing began, including inside the wheel arches and doors, tyres, trim and glass both sides, which put my usual efforts to shame. I have to say that the end result is extremely impressive but cannot really be done full justice by photographs. The attached shots were taken on my return home in rather poor light, although at least the car was still fairly clean! Many thanks again to Vince and I hope other XM and Citroen owners will put business your way and have their cars transformed!! With regards, Matthew T.

Thanks for your kind remarks chaps and I am sorry I did not make it to Wales Paul, but definitely next time - it was a bit of a flying visit! The cleaning and machine polishing work was carried out by Vince aka Pallas Finishes who is well known on this site and here is a website link: http://pallasautorefinishing.wordpress. ... 04/13/faq/ With regards, Matthew T.

I saw Catherine's green estate at RAF Cosford after Vince had spent an age on it, and you're correct Matthew, pictures don't do it justice.

Thankyou for the kind words Matthew ;)

I havent created a page for yours yet have i  Apologies for that, i have had a bit of stuff going on in my normal everyday job, but that's come to an end so ill get your page done and and up as soon as poss, tonight if all goes to plan. Glad to see the car still looks well. I wont lie, it was a monster job all said and done, but being such a special car it was great to see it finished.

The most frustrating thing with photos is its true they dont do the finish justice. You cant feel the finish of the paint and a camera never captures the true finish as well as the human eye.

Yours was a car i would have liked to spend around 3 days on, but alas time and distance wouldnt allow that so it all got crammed into a very long day. What time did i get finished?....23:15 if i remember rightly  But your are happy with it so thats all that matters :)

Well must go, ive got a red xantia v6 sat on my drive today which isnt going to do itself :P Thats going to be showroom when its done as its quite clean as it stands now.

Guys as i alluded to earlier on, Ive lost my full time job so im happy to be working on cars to help bring in a few quid whilst i find something else, so im free anytime to talk ;)
