Not sure of the reasons but the car definitely rides better. The orifices are very small so the black gloop that was clogging the internals may make a significant difference to pressures and flow rates?

I changed both height correctors on a high mileage 2.5 I had once and it made a big difference to the ride. I think it's because they collect black silt and it causes a bit of stiction, so their reaction time isn't as good as when new. It may be an S2 issue - sinking to the ground overnight to let the fluid back to the reservoir and subsequently through the filter is basically a better solution.

Cheers

I remember refurbing the rear hc on the Xantia and it was a different car afterwards. So much smoother and responsive.

Last minute wedding duties. Only got asked to do the bride and family delivery at 19:30 last night. Quick wash and polish this morning.

Great picture, Rob. XM in white makes a great wedding car!

Takes us back to ours in 2000 in Surrey, when we handed its keys to my son, who slung on a peaked hat, and drove us to and fro on the day. Might keep that in mind, if our pensions ever get whittled.... :?

The car is looking splendid after all the work since we last met up.

Huge thank you to Dean who popped over at the weekend to deliver his surplus 2.0i engine for a very nominal sum.

The engine and box have been subject to Dean's usual love and care so I know she is a good un'!

The unit is now safely tucked up in my garage.

Great to catch up and I look forward to seeing the V6 mobile later in the year when we are heading to the IoW for a few days.
