Would have loved to have kept it but cant keep everything, thought i would have had it longer though.

Yeah, a guy on RR, the add for the BMW is still on there, page three now i think, PM'd him about a swap and he was really keen, the BMW is better in the metal than it sounds and looks in the add, cleaning up really nice and drives superb.

That's the one, paint turned out to be not as bad as described, spent most of last week T-cutting and waxing it by hand, looking ace now, fixed the interior door handle, changed the oil and plugs, got a new cam cover gasket on order, also front suspension thrust arms, still to source a rear light and kidney trims for the grill.
Seems to be rust free (apart from the minor bit at the fuel door) which is a bonus, turns out it's not got an LSD as stated in the add which is a bit annoying.

:-( Sent you a PM on Retro Rides about this car last night, saw the ad and messaged on the off chance! Ah well, my hunt for a nice XM continues...

Hi Mark, and all! It's Neil here the new owner of the XM. I hate to come here with bad news but I'm afraid the XM will be being passed on soon, it's just not for me I'm afraid. When I first got it it was an absolute blast, such a bonkers and unusual piece of kit. I am in love with the interior but sadly that's about it and the novelty has fast worn off. Don't get me wrong I am really glad I have owned one but owning many older BMWs over the years I fancied a change but this just confirmed where my heart is. I just love my old Germans.

The main reason I signed up on here was to give you guys the heads up that the XM will be going up for sale as I would like it to continue its life with an enthusiast hopefully, Mark explain how helpful and passionate you guys are about these cars.

I have a few jobs I'm going to do on it then I will probably put it on eBay, unless anybody on here wants it. Thanks a lot and once again sorry for signing up for this reason. Neil.

Perhaps a bit more homework would have helped! Did you manage to test drive one of these first?

I had a bit of a drive and I loved the quirkiness. Not sure what you mean by homework? I considered owning it because I thought I'd give something else a try and thought why not, but as said above I've found over the time owning it it's not for me.

Just to be clear I've joined up here to give anybody who wanted the car previously a fair shout such as Sam Skelton above. I thought it would be the correct thing to do. I'll leave it at that, feel free to get in touch on 07412989842 if you're interested. Thanks for your time and happy motoring. Goodbye. Neil.
