I hope you pulled a string through the dashboard area to draw the speedo cable with. If you did, it's easy, if not...

Been busy fixing all the "small" things,

The heater panel had broken where the bowden cable for the recirculation flap clipped on so this is what I did to fix it:

Some epoxy and a piece of tin bent and cut to shape and it feels stronger than original :D (although it does look a bit bodgy). Once all back together though it is clear why it originally broke, It was rather stiff and I couldn't move the slider. The flap was easy to move with the cable disconnected, but the stiffness remained so I have sent the cable off to the people that did the speedo cable to be remade.

Got the interior fan / climate control working, thought is was the usual engine bay fusebox playing up so I took that out dismantled and cleaned up the heater fuse contacts but it wasn't that — turned out the be the green relay under the glovebox!

Also did some baking for the XM, no not a cake but the blue interior light control box. Basically I dismantled the blue box, covered the components side of the board in tinfoil and baked it in the oven for 8 minutes at 200 degrees celsius. Didn't really expect it to work but amazingly it did! Must of been a cracked solder joint somewhere which the oven reflowed.

Anyway interior still looks like this until I get the heater cable back :o
