I think you are probably right but as I am still feeling my way into the best way to drive her. The rear cigarette lighter has now decided to work again but just noticed that the front off side fog light is out. My fog lights seen to come on with the headlights and I cannot turn them off...
All part of the experience I guess...

Foglight bulb replaced
Went down the halfords route.

Cigarette lighters now working again.
Heating system completely failed to work yesterday morning along with rear window heater. Then all working fine yesterday afternoon and today...
Any thoughts?

Love her though, she has been named the "Batmobile"

Still going strong here in East Kent... Still awaiting the day when I see another XM on the road...

300 miles a week... Mid 40s mpg.
What's not to love?

If this equates to the digital display being blank on the AC/heating system, and blower fan etc dead, then almost certainly a failure of F2 in the engine bay fusebox (in front of the battery). The F2 30A (late models 40A) fuse is heavily loaded, and the fuseholder of poor quality. Likely that the fuse blades are charred/dirty. Replacing the fuse might restore things, but it might not last.
Remedy is to fit an external heavy-duty fuseholder for this fuse. Do a search for "F2" or "F2 replacement" on the Forum.

Not sure about this. I don't have a digital display on the heater...?
All good since?

Hi Rory,
My mistake...didn't properly clock your RP number.
Engine bay F2 is still the first item to check, as it powers up the heater blower system.
Even if the fuse is still intact, its contacts might be intermittent.

Well checked in the fuse box. Things looked ok but will keep an eye on it.
Latest happening... Checked the coolant in Saturday and it seemed low in the header tank added about 0.5l to bring it up to correct level. Low coolant level warning had stayed on for about 10secs the day before. All seemed normal until today when 10 mins into the journey home I got an "elevated coolant temperature warning". Coolant level seemed normal - where I had topped up too.
Was on again when I left home 40 mins later?
Any suggestions?

Light off all day today.
Taking her to Medway Citroen tomorrow to let the experts have a look.
She was booked in for a service on 22nd but I am not risking leaving her that long :(
I guess there is a possibility it's the HG but will have to wait and see.
On wed I accidentally left the cap off after checking levels in the morning
She didn't lose any fluid!

I love this car... :D

Is the cooling system thoroughly bled? Any air left in it can generate poor circulation, hot spots, and maybe local boiling, which will lead to coolant loss.

Not an expert on 2.1s, but I'm sure someone can tip you off about actual cold and hot coolant levels, as seen in the header tank.
