I know how you feel, starting to think seriously about chasing the 2.0i down that's sitting in a field over here and doing something with it.........................or doing something interesting with my B235r engine............

It's a 4 pot turbo engine from a Saab 9-5 230bhp although I'm not sure it will mate with a HP18 auto box like the older 200hp B234 engine did.

There could be an opening for modified XM as they do look pretty sporty. I spoke to Phil Chidlow yesterday about the BX 16v he rescued. He sold it on to someone in Yorkshire and it now sports a supercharger and was featured in a "Tuning and power" type magazine.

It could be the awakening of modified hydraulic cars in the UK.

Has anyone seen if this months practical Classics got any write up of the Duxford C6 meet?

a lot of the 80's cit design stuff looks rather good and lends itself to visual mods too, all the wedgy stuff looks rather aggressive with a few tweeks.
I think C Gat started all this off over here as a well publicised effort at tuning a hydro Citroen.
half of me wants to do it, the other half doesnt. Tuning is a slippery slope, 200bhp is nice but after a while its not enough and so it goes on with the chase for 250, then 300 etc etc, if i had kept the Activa it was planned for a taller ratio box, lsd, forged internals, bigger turbo, its half the reason it went really, the point of the car became power and handling, the XM is more an old friend.

Now a caterham or lotus with 200hp would be interesting and a simpler project to take on.

Come down to Cheltenham and sort mine out!

So glad the secret surprise was a success. I have been in touch with David and both are delighted. It's like Car SOS!

Will, the C6 rally was mentioned in PC, with a small photo of the 'timeline' cars lined up, including your XM.
