My first XM

Post by raynoon » Wed Oct 28, 2015 8:36 pm

Here are some photos I found of my very first Citroen XM. I bought it in 2002 for the measly sum of £100. It lasted less than 2 months before the starter motor packed in. It was a 2.0 auto, I can't remember the exact spec but it was fairly basic.
Sadly I scrapped this car and replaced it with the BX in the last pic

The BX was a 19TXD and was an absolute beauty of a car

must of been an Si Ray. Base I models didnt get steering wheel radio controls, unless the wheel was added later.

On a J there was a slight trim upgrade. Initally Base models ONLY had electric front windows and electric sunroof. Then around J reg electric Mirrors were added...

my first XM was a Black G reg 2.oi manual with sunroof that I bought from liverpool! All XMs had ABS as an option, with SE trim having it as standard. My 2.0i had the ABS fitted though.

Ive also had a BX TXD, thye feature the later 1.9d XUD engine with 75bhp in its final N/a guise. They are distingishable by the manifold, the intake pipe is central, rather then earlyer side entry pipe and 65bhp... sorry im rambling..
Projects:(eventually if theres any bodywork left)

Ramble away Paul! I'm getting rather excited at my new arrival at the weekend and decided to hunt for these photos. I knew even less about the XM than I do now but the BX was a very rapid car and one of several that I owned

My first XM 2.1 estate cost me £5k+ :o (we had just inherited some money) and I spent a couple of years on a very steep learning curve, my last one cost £150 taxed and MOT. How times change.

I was trying my best to keep it quiet until I completed the sale, but yes, I've agreed to purchase K BAN from Paul and will collect it on Saturday 👍

Congratulations. I'm glad it's found a good home. It's a good looking car (at least it was when I last saw it overtaking me on the A55).
