Well ive done it again.. after the BSP project I told myself I wasnt dooing another... but. Hey guess what.. yes I am.
what to do on observation. Well ...
welding. Front outriggers and areas around rear subframe mounts. Im sure the outer cills them selfs are ok
welding on the inner wings at front which is a first for me. Be interesting that one..
speedo doesnt work infact the pin is stuck on 10mph. Either clock or cable.
revcounter doesnt work
lh dot matrix doesnt give its stop lamp test message on startup but the ! Light does show.
STOP light for hydraulic pressure doesnt come up all the time also no warning of low hydraulic pressure
interior lights not working but as discussed in other places the blue box is to blame for them staying on.
auto selector lcd display is a jumble and doesnt display correctly
cooling fans on all the time weither air con which works is on or not and gives over cooling.
cam belt and water pump want dooing as a matter of course and piece of mind
Battery box to air cleaner section are broke so needs a new battery box.. relays in that area need a tidy up.
fit a newly made by speedy cables bonnet release cable. Ill check it over and inform of speedys quaility.
thats all I can think of at this hour of the morning.
the inside bits im not worried about.. relativly easy im suspecting an earth somewhere exepct speedo that be cable or head
welding will take most time....ooooo crap that reminds me I need to buy a new spool of welding wire.
other observation. Well the steering rack is increadably communative it groans a lot when steering which is slightly amusing but its smooth and works fine. The car drives very well. It has pleanty of go.. impressive actually.. even for auto .m i have driven an identical series 2 auto bosch 2.1 and its not as quick. Tthe ride with new spheres is also very nice and smooth. Bit of trim rattle. Shes increadably tidy inside too.
So. Dont get me wrong. Sound daunting but theres no more here then any xm that comes in from an average owner to enthusiast it sounds a lot there but a lot will be easy fixxand not take long at all.
I actually look forward to dooing this and getting through it all.
