Is alloys for winter and trims for summer the right way round?
That was not actually in my thinking Will and I just prefer the alloys on the balance! With regards, Matthew T.

One of my first cars was LHD a 1955 Vauxhall Velox, in the '60s I had a LHD Morris Oxford estate, had that for some time but converted it to RHD eventually. They were very useful in the smogs of the '50s, you could lean out of the window and see the kerb.

My first Rover, a 1935 '10'.jpg
I remember (in 1967) driving my 1935 Rover 10 from central Manchester to Warrington on the old A57. A real pea-souper fog. Only way to do it was at walking pace, head out of the window, and following the white lines, while dodging abandoned cars and lorries all over the place. Worst bit was through Eccles and Cadishead. Will never forget it.

Have you ever owned a CX and if so how does the diravi driving experience compare between the XM and CX?

No, I have never owned a CX Derek, although I imagine the feel is similar, while I understand there are differences to the gearing. It seems very strange at first, but very quickly you get the hang of it and I love the smoothness and lightness for parking etc. Regards, Matthew T.

I love my GSA, it's full of Citroen technology, but the one thing it hasn't got which I miss from the CXs I used to have is diravi steering. For a decade since my eldest turned 17 I've been saddled with family obligations for choice of cars: a large one to transport people and stuff and a cheap to insure one for the children to drive. Now I have the Fiat Doblo (which I bought to replace a C4) I have solved the capacious vehicle and cheap to insure vehicle in one. Which means my other everyday car has scope to be an indulgence. A CX kept outside would dissolve into rust and squeezing one into my unrealistically small garage would cause problems, one of which would be the GSA would have to go. So I have tentatively concluded that what I want most in the world is a LHD V6 XM with diravi.

I had three CXs, best cars I have ever driven, not just because of the Diravi which was brilliant but also the central steering knuckles which gave it a strait line stability which I have never experienced in any other car. I covered 160,000 miles in my last one, a CX25 DTR turbo Safari.
