So I have tentatively concluded that what I want most in the world is a LHD V6 XM with diravi.
I would go for it Derek and here are a couple of options for starters:
http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/detai ... geNumber=1#" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/detai ... geNumber=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/detai ... geNumber=1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/searc ... AsArray=PS" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I acquired my 24v via ebay and arranged import with assistance from the very nice and helpful German owner, although fortunately the other car was in Leeds!
Please do keep us posted!
Regards,
Matthew T.

In my internet browsing I found Germany to be much the best place to look for XM V6s, lots of ads for them there, more than in France.

Do all V6s have diravi or is it an option which must be asked for by the purchaser?

All PRV XM V6 had Diravi Derek, which is basically S1 cars plus a few early S2 that retained that engine. I agree that there is more choice of XM in Germany and mobile.de is the best site I have found. Regards, Mathew T.

Oh good, there'll be more to choose from than I thought

I'm aware diravi was dropped in 1997, not that "1997" pins it down precisely.

Production of the ZPJ4 PRV 24V engine was terminated at the beginning of January 1997.
Source information Citroen 1998 Model Year Range.
Cars with the replacement ES9J4 engine were not available until the start of the new model year in late summer 1997 (ORGA 7511).

They do not make clear when the PRV 12V engine production was terminated but it is likely to be in early 1997.
By this time PRV 24V cars were being made only to special order.
There will have been a stock holding of PRV engines so a few Dravi V6's may well have been made in the first half of 1997.
I believe these cars will also have been sinkers.

Do not overlook Estates as these were available with the ZJP engine.
Be aware that in Europe the V6 XM's were available in SX spec as well as Exclusive.

Enjoy your search.
