A valve to this visual shape was used on the xud 1.9td engines in xantias from what 1997 to 1999 to control the egr valve..

No idea if they do the same job but use a different part no...

All the ones I have checked have the vacuum spigot and electrical connector the same side, whereas the one I need has them opposed and space is limited, especially for the rear mounted one.

The only other uses I can find are Xm/605 2.5td, EGR valve and PSA 2.0i-16v ACAV vacuum...Zx, Xantia, Xm, 306-S16, 405-Mi16, 605.

After a few failed attempts, I tracked downa Peugeot breaker with an ACAV valve 036338. Once recieved I cut off the stub and fitted it to the upper position.

The o2 sensor light was still coming on, so a bit of investigtion was required.
I have recently fitted new lambda sensors, one replacement injector and refurbished all six.

New seals kit.

Old filters.

Cleaning up underside of plenum. This is a gasketless joint so needs to be perfectly sealed. I cleaned it up with a razor blade scraper, then added a trace of Hylomar sealer before fitting back together.

Image

Due to slightly uneven running and the O2 sensor issue, I suspected an induction air leak so I decided to check for any leaks. Having tried to perform a vacuum test, found my vacuum guage was U/s, so thought forget vacuum, go for pressure.

I made a smoke test kit out of an empty paint tin, a small compressor, a bit of rag and used engine oil. Drill the lid and poke the compressor feed pipe and a rubber output pipe in, connect the outlet pipe to the throttle bypass vale input, light the oil soaked rag and allow to burn, then put the lid on to snuff the flame and turn the compressor on.
This blows smoke into the intake tracts, which should indicate any leaks. There was one, from an injector O ring that was misplaced on assembly, due to using WD40 as the lubricant, as opposed to engine oil.

You can see the smoke trail in this (upside down) video.

The running is better, but the O2 ligth still comes on when idleing with a fully hot engine. I'll check the exhaust manifolds and gaskets next.

I made my own, which is why I posted up the lead legths.

The original equipment is Bourgicord. A replacement set had all the leads too short, which as far as I can see seems to be the case for all the replacement leads advertised (presumably apart from Bougicord), so shelling out £230 is even less appealing. I suspect the manufacturers are taking the lead length to be the overall length, including the contacts, thus making their leads too short.

The bit you can't obtain for making your own leads are the plastic extenders and associated rubber upper and lower boots. I scavanged these bits from the two sets I had.
