Thanks Richard. Just as the 12v, it would be possible to do that on the 24v, using a multi-ribbed pulley.

For now, the issue is resolved.

Very early xantias used a sinker system.. and a milti ridged pully pump too... so.. in theroy not too hard. . But working out the belt length to suit the smaller size pully on the pump compared to the air con pully would need dooing.. however.. petrol models used a much larger pully pump. Im not sure i have one as a sinker pump now..

Can someone with a PRV6-24 please take a picture of the top mounted ACAV valve and post it up...Matthew, Paul?

I need a valve but sourcing one is proving difficult. I have possibly found a stock of the lower valve, and believe mine had been exchanged with a lower one previously, which I have now refitted to the lower position

Please excuse my ignorance Will, but what and where is the ACAV valve - is it the idle valve ? I am sure that I can then oblige with a picture as requested. With regards, Matthew T.

Like this possibly?

Hi Matthew, that's the idle control valve. The ACAV valve is the smaller solenoid valve to the left of the idle control valve, mounted on top of the plenum.

It will be similar (possibly the same, bar connector colour) as this one.

Remove the black cover that houses the ht leads.. under there ontop of the inlet manifold are two bellows.. they are connected to manifold butterflies inside.. controled by electro vaccum valves.. one opens at one set rpm the second later on. They change the inlet air chamber for air flow.. more air more power. Im guessing changing the mainifold to a straighter intake for the high power output..

Sorry will im not near mine..

I hope that these photos are helpful to you Will and that the correct part can be located. With regards, Matthew T.

Thanks Matthew, your picture tells me what I need to know.

The rear one is p/n 036338 and it has a brown connector and central stub projecting. The upper one is p/n 036322 with green connector and no stub projecting.

It's of a bit convoluted story, but on my car the upper one had been replaced with 036338 and the stub was fouling the idle valve connector to the point of chafing the wiring. The rear one had gone open circuit so I stripped off the plenum unit and fitted the upper one in it's place.

Both these valves are NFP, but having not seen a 036322 I couldn't see what the difference was.

I've ordered one for a Vauxhall Insignia to fit until I can find an original part...here's hoping it will actually work that long.
