Post by citroenxm » Wed Aug 30, 2017 8:16 pm

Re living my 20s again. Ive been honoured to have been given the following..
20170827_191002.jpg
Mechanically spot on.. cant fault it.. some bodywork to do.. mainly welding on the upper cills.. amazingly lower sills and floor are all very good..except a bit at the passenger side footwell floor..
20170827_191103.jpg
Shes a Txd Turbo D.. with a recent clutch.. good rear arm bearings and a head rebuild not so long ago too...

So far.. im loving it again.

A facelifted BX with full dash!!! Lovely.
Will make a nice change to look after such basic suspension. Is it the soft variety, or the firmed-up GTi version?
I'd love another one of those.
40's for me too :?

Man, I miss my BX's! They're the only car my wife has banned me from owning again!

Well done Paul, it looks. I guess they gave it to you so it got a good home rather than being scrapped?

The TXd and TZD Turbo's are cracking cars, only bettered by a Bx-16v.

Nippy as an angry lobster round town.

Keep up with modern stuff. . The reason is new stuff is more powerful but they are also twice as heavy.. the xud would be even better woth varible vane turbo.. the on off boost is fun but can catch you out if the revs are too low.. but once on boost its smiles!!!

Someone's put an XUD from (I think) a Rover with the variable vane turbo you talk of very recently. It's running some external controller for it I think.

Dragon Man on BXClub.co.uk has blogged about it. Very good restoration and modification:
