Anyone who can top that? :D

Did you drive a BX Estate, Peter?
We did indeed, we had several in fact, one hatch and two estates. When we had a our first one they had to be recalled for something or other, my wife took it to the dealers and in the showroom was a TZD turbo estate, she fell in love with it.

I have never bought a new car in my life and wasn't going to start then but a few years later when a secondhand one came up at a reasonable price we bought it, she reckons it was the best car she had ever had. The performance was amazing for a diesel back then and she took full advantage of it!

We passed it on to our son when it started to get a bit tatty, he ran it for a while then someone ran into the back of it when it was parked and wrote it off. I got my wife a ZX, she didn't like that at all - no go, much heavier of course. I was running CX's and they were the bees knees as far as I was concerned.

Quick update, as this is an XM forum not a BX one, a few things have been done, she sprang a big water leak, luckilly my head and gasket survived, it turned out to be the water pump and it was too, the bearing had started to collapse! So,, new belt and pump fitted all sorted. I suprised myself with time, 2 hrs!

Ive now also got a properly sealing drivers window, a tooth on the regulator had bent, replacement regulator in nice and quiet now, I also got hold of a rev counter sensor, so thats now working too, the sensor had died...

So far so good, im now figghting to fit a RF radio controled locking kit, same as one ray had fitted to his car, however, the BX uses negative trigger where the new box gives a positive trigger, so currently having fun getting it working!!

Not sure whether your BX has a coolant header tank, or whether it relies on a radiator 'side tank'.
If the latter, then worth fitting one, which I remember was easy. BX heads prone to airlocking and HG failure.
The car looks splendid!

Thought I had replied to this but can't see it so forgive me if I've done it twice. Yes we had several estates but the best one by far was the TZD turbo, my wife liked it because she could 'get out of road junctions quickly' they certainly did fly. I drove a 2.0. Hdi 206 estate the other day, feels very similar, the wife rather fancies one, I find it a bit uncouth compared with the 406's we have but it doesn't half go.

Its not the same setup as the xm. The xm is positive trigger and the bx is negative trigger..

Just use a relay to reverse the trigger function.
