Excellent! Good choice, I hope it is the Citroen DS3 and not DS 3. I don't believe in DS as a brand!

Many thanks Russ and Emma will definitely be reassured by your comments! I am also pleased to confirm that the car is a 2011 Citroen DS3 Sport Plus and we could not afford anything more recent!! With regards, Matthew T.

DS3 and DS 3 :? That's a bit subtle. Presumably the second one offers extra space?

It has now arrived and here are some photos with the XM! There are a couple of issues that a nice local garage is hopefully sorting today, which include replacing worn rear brake discs and a faulty headlight bulb and the engine light has also come on!! With regards, Matthew T.

Yes Will, perhaps not the colour we would have immediately chosen, but it does look handsome when polished and the the spec was otherwise rather seductive! I think the 'Sport' only came in white and black and I slightly prefer the matching roof, which I think was a special order. The paint is not actually quite black but a very dark metallic grey. I'd far rather have an older, bigger, cheaper car to enjoy than a newer, smaller, more expensive one.

I've owned some fabulous Citroens down the years courtesy of their low second hand values which I would not otherwise have been able to afford.

A GSA back when I had three children under 2, £600 for a car with something like 45,000 miles, when an Escort of similar age and mileage would have been £2000.

A CX Familiale 2.5 Auto from the legendary Roger Bradford for £750, when the 4th child came along.

A pristine BX 16 TRS which was only sold when my eldest turned 17 and we needed something cheaper to insure for a 17 year old. Which was a ZX, another good car in its own conventional way.
