I am sorry to report that the DS3 Sport Plus in black went back to the Seller mainly due to apparently unsolvable engine light issues and my wife has only just managed to secure a refund about five months later through her credit car provider! After vowing not to consider another DS3 she seems to have been won over by a more recent model with an improved and less troublesome petrol turbo engine - we are assured! The replacement car is being sold by the local Main Dealer and also has significantly lower mileage and a full service history with the same garage. Obviously the cost is a bit more, but hopefully worth it should anything go wrong! I quite like the deep red metallic paintwork but I cannot completely make up my mind which wheels I prefer! Regards, Matthew T.

Nicely smoothed off . . . and Edward Scissorhands wheels!

I am not sure about the 'Scissorhand' wheels Chris and I am now thinking that I prefer the earlier design!! With regards, Matthew T.

Which engine does the new one have?

It has the smaller and (we are told) less troublesome 1.2 turbo Mike thankfully, which was definitely a selling point! The earlier 1.6 turbo engine fitted in the DS Sport did give apparently regular problems. With regards, Matthew T.

Sorry to hear about the first DS3 Matthew. Worth knowing about that engine.
The 1.2 3cyl is an excellent little engine. I drove a Cactus with it and was very impressed.

Hope the new one is a better behaved. I like both alloy designs, but the original is my preferred choice.

Many thanks Russ and I had not registered about the engine being three cylinder and also in the Cactus. The current small Fords have similar power plants do they not? The engine has impressive 'go' and also claims to manage 60mpg with only £20 a year tax! I also slightly agree about the wheels and I might persuade Emma to change if I pick some decent earlier style wheels cheap! With regards, Matthew T.
