We decided to buy a new (old) Eriba caravan in Holland last week. However, wasn't sure the car was up to it but with extra breakdown cover and a willing family and dog we left at 3 a.m. Friday morning for the ferry. Those of you with pet passports will know that timing is everything and having had the dog treated for worms and ticks at the vets over here, we had no more than 48 hours to complete the trip. If you mess up, you have to find a French vet, pay a lot of euros and wait 24 hours!
We managed to pick up the caravan and get back to Calais with a couple of hours spare, only to be told that Dover was closed! However, they put us on the Eurotunnel shuttle and we just squeaked back in time. The good old XM did an amazing 1,000 miles over the two days, without a murmur.
Must change the oil now I think, it was due before we went.
Here's a nice pic of us waiting for the train.

Excellent stuff! My parents have a similar old Eriba, and they love it!
