Farewell spare tyre

Today, I finally called time and said goodbye to the Michelin Pilot 205/65 R15 which has been our spare wheel for quite some time. Two new Michelin Energy Saver+ were fitted to the rear, and a decent Energy from there moved to spare duty.
Nothing extraordinary about that - some might say - except the expert fitter did raise both Spanish eyebrows when he pulled the old spare off. "1996" he announced, amazed. And still mostly unworn. I think it made his day.
The new Michelins on the back are noticeably softer riding than the 2015 and 2010 pair that were removed, and the car now has Energy's on all five corners.
