today i had a bit of a hoover up round the engine (filling two bags worth in the process)
there dont seem to be any more rodent damage under the engine covor only an old dodgy repair to a wire going to the A/C pump (red insulation tape) and a few that have cracked over the years (yellow wires)
i then put some 3in1 down the bores put the plugs and leads back so i diddnt mix up their places put a batterey on and tried to start it

Image

unfortunately the throtle body is very stiff although i suspect some wd-40 to clean it and a light oil might make it better

Image

not only did it turn over but it coughed and started although ran at a very low RPM most likley due to the throtle body and the 10 year old fuel
it seemed to run on all 6 but i stopped it soon as i noticed it had started
was also a fair bit of smoke come out of the exsaust too

The smoke will be your 3 in 1 oil burning off so I wouldn't worry about that, low idle could be either the wrong Ecu or a sticky IDle control valve, looks promising

Assuming there are no hydraulic (suspension, steering) leaks, it might be worth getting hold of 5-lit of Total Hydraurincage, and putting that in, so it can do its work. Just syphon out the contents of the LHM reservoir, and refill (to normal level) with H'cage.
Can stay in there for 3000-5000 miles. After a bit of circulation, it can be doing its stuff while you work on everything else. Available (or orderable) at Citroen parts counters, and a few other places (price similar to LHM).

I know there was a slight LHM Leak when it was put away you can see it on the mots so I’m thinking it might be better to use LHM until leak is found and sorted
Or is it a case I might as well just use the other

The yellow wires on top of the engine will be earths Ben and the oil filter is against the lower left hand (from front) and accessed from underneath. It was good to hear that the engine has been started! With regards, Matthew T.

If you can locate the leak, you may as well fix it first, and use Hydraurincage afterwards.
Let us know where it is (could be an easy fix of something like a return pipe) - we may be able to advise.

Matthew (and a few others here) like nothing more than buggy engines, and whipping them out over an otherwise lazy weekend, and will be positively salivating over your splendid pics!
You have an assured following there, and a mine of V6 help.
