On another note.. Not driven her since before Christmas..

I think I had covid over Christmas.. I caught a 3rd cough from little man around the 10th of Dec.. And it lingured and I did feel achey etc but by the time I decided to do tests as I assumed it was just another cough it was beyond 10 days.. So tests were negative but my taste and smell went.. My soeciasilt nurse said if you lost those then I'd definitely had it . Anyway. I've come through it now and I'm 99% OK. Still have the odd cough at night..

Anyway. Ever since I put the Xm on the road I couldn't leave the battery connected.. This was on assumption I was useing a crap battery. So we ordered a new calcium type 680cca and 78ah battery for her..

Fitted it thinking my troubles were done. Three days later.. Flat...

So I connected my multimeter up to see what's going on

A draw of 0.50amp when all shut down and locked so an investigation is needed.

Little boy goes back to school Monday 10th which should give us free time to then connect up again and do a fuse pull and see which circuit drops the power then look at that. .

A draw of 0.5 amp is 6w, so it's likely a bulb is staying lit.
Rather than pull fuses just measure the voltage drop across each one in turn. Any with voltage drop are passing current.

Cheat the door switches to gain access to to fusebox, whilst leaving the car in closed/shutdown mode, otherwise the hydractive will keep energising for 30 seconds, or 10 minutes if the timer relays call for it.

Just noticed, it appears the Battery symbol is showing on your meter.
You need to replace the battery, otherwise will not have correct readings, as the meter uses the internal battery as it's comparison voltage against input voltages.
It may not matter for this particular use, as you don't really care what the readings are, just any with voltage drop over a fuse indicates current is being drawn.

Bit of a play today I went through all the fuses. And only a few dropped the amps. Bit today it was reading 1.13 amps or so..

Fuse 27 dropped it from 1.13amp to 500amp... Still to much
Fuse 36 dropped it from 1.13amp to 950amp
Fuse 34 from 1.13 to 750amp..

Ive.not looked to see what curcuits they are.. Anyway.. After a bit more messing I had a higher reading..

I found that if I disconnected the main battery supply to the in car fuse box.. The amps dropped to 0.004...

So with that in mind I went back into the car. There's no interior bulbs connected..

I unplugged one by one. The alarm box.. No change... The blower motor feed.. No change... The radio.. No change.. The heater panel no change..

However I then realised the alarm was activating and headlights flashing. So I reset that with the key..

Then noticed a reading of 0.001... I locked and unlocked the car a couple of times... The meter showed a current draw with this operation and went back to zero..

Switched ignition on and back off... Amps back to 0.01 so I have disturbed something which is operating again. I wanted to start the car but with the meter inline on the positive pole I don't think it would like the draw...

So I'm gonna read up If there's a way if connecting an amp meter up permanently so I can monitor what's going on.

OK a bit further.... The under bonnet connection direct to the fuse box passes through another double plug at the side of the fusebox. So it's in here I have managed to place the dvm as an ammeter in line..
Screenshot_20220109-142839.png
This shows me current draw on items in the car.. Which are currently all working... I'm now thinking am I looking at the wrong circuit at the moment... I'll try it on the other one. Heater rear screen lights and horn all show an amp draw. Oooo forgot to try windows...

However if it still goes flat. Then it's another circuit. Interesting that lights etc don't take much more then 1amp... Tyre pump in cigarette lighter too 1.89amps...

Here's what I'm at. Just now...?

That's not correct, but you cannot obtain an accurate reading as your meter needs a new battery.

A bit of hopefully progress..

Decided to swap out fuse boxes. Just for sheer chance.
DSC_0077.JPG
DSC_0079.JPG
Connected it all back up... But still 0.300amp however with the swap of fuse box weither it's luck or a solved issue the Ac on now switches all off and nothing is latching on.. Time will tell on that..

So I decided to do a fuse pull.. And found pulling the fuse for 12v sockets and rear window isolation switch drops the current to 0.110amp... I'd like to guess that is low enough to not need to worry. So I shall test now and leave it all connected and see what happens over next few days.. Hopefully I have cracked it. Need to put an external relay connection now on that fuse to make sure it's switching. Incedentally, there's no shunt fuse on the earlyer fuse boxes.
