It appears the change of the pcb with green connector has sorted out the fuel guage.. The first one I tried the oil level didn't work.. I tried a second and one segment was out on the gear selector display.

Looking closer at the first replacement the solder for the row of pins on the side which push onto the main pcb had cracked so the first 5 pins weren't making contact.. After a flash over with soldering iorn and Refit I'm now very proud the oil level works.. The fuel guage now works and doesn't die and ALL gear. Selector segments in the lcd all work too.. Very happy now.

Next big task is the air con. It REALLY does need sorting I need. To fit another compressor as the system had a slow leak but not from any of the useual suspects around the engine bay. I then learnt that the compressor shaft seal can weap. So I have a couple of other r134a compressors. I'll swap it over connect it up.. Get a vac on it... If it holds try and work out a way to pressure the system with air with a compressor or something.. If it passes the test get a Groupon voucher and see what ats can do for me.

I'm quite happy with ats ac service I put a condenser rad on our 207 and took it to them they did a test.. Vacced it down put the gas in and its so far been good for 2 years..

A nice fix, there.
The one with the duff gear selector display could be useful for repairing mine with fried components.

Small observation today.. Which I wonder if any. Other td auto owners would try to compare.

I put the kickdown cable on today to check out.

The surge from third to fourth doesn't happen which I was aware of.. But what I did notice was it being a lot more sluggy and noticeably not as lively. I rechecked this by taking the kickdown back off and she was nice n lively again. Its not an imagery thing. It was noticeable different. I understand its an engine load cable. But.. Why would it make the car slower.. And because of the more revving use more fuel..??

After a complete event less trip of 560 miles over three days to the national rally and home the weather was just too much.. the ac currently doesn't work on the car I decided to try and get it sorted.. I'm hoping its a leak on the compressor shaft seal as the rest of the system had no leaks but it still post gas over time. The compressor has been on it for as long as we know

Anyway. Got the front all stripped down..

The bumper reenforce bar is super order..

Looks like you've caught it just in time.

At least access is easy and you won't have to lie on your back!

Its how to sort it is the issue. Words I'd thought I would never hear but I'm not 8n the position to swap a full subframe . So.. do I cut the full square section out.. or do i just cut the top section off and swap it for a better peace from another one. I've about 4 about still..

I think cutting the full section out would be your best option if the bottom half has also started to go. You could split the repair section horizontally and then stagger the joints with the bottom piece shorter than the top.

I think the lower part is still solid.

I'll work something out.
