These c5 spheres I have are from a non sport setup. The spheres have a nice large centre hole., like standard non hydractive xantia spheres.

That's far to technical for me Alasdair. I just want a soft floaty boat ride. If it want sporty ride I'll buy a BMW or equivalent

Fuether closer examination for mot revealed a couple of small issues.. Near side front..

And a small hole to attend to..

While I was here I put the c5 spheres on the front...

Try and compare the movement against the boat.. But also bear in mind.. I think.. The car is in hard mode because the door and bonnet are open if I understand the system correctly.

A test drive to happen yet when we got for mot.

Video wouldn't play on either PC or iPad.
If doors are open and engine running, then suspension should be Soft.

Well after a 2 year layup and autobox swap as documented here we put her in for mot which came back with a couple of advisories..

Now. Addressed as they weren't hard issues were now pleased to have 12 months of troubles ahead of us.. Or no troubles.. We shall see..

I need to get back under at some point to clean up rust spots on pipes to prevent future bursts.. Lots of white spots on them.. But aren't an issue at the very moment.

Issues.. Yes some rolling issues..
1.no central locking or alarm cancel feature. I've not checked to see if the fuse is missing yet.
2. Autobox is very good generally but has got a 3rd to 4th change issue in auto and manually.. I'm led to beleve its possibly a broken spring in the valve block, I have a spare block from the original box so will practice opening up. If I Remeber rightly there's a gasket of sort in the area I need to get into.. Can't remember.
3. Abs is fun. It's on with first start.. But goes off with second ir third start. If its off it currently doesn't cone in under any braking.
4. Rear brakes could do with a bleed up to strengthen them up a bit. They passed brake test but could be better.
5. Find a throttle plastic link for the cruise control cable to throttle lever. I might have one but need to check.

So.. Another Xm gets into the road.

Well done, presumably the battery holding clamp was missing, or loose and the spare wheel carrier just needs showing the welder and a coat of paint.

Those two make it a pretty short list of advisories for a car with 262,000 miles.
