Did the car still look okish from the outside?

Yes and no, the sills are obviously missing but poking has revealed double the amount of rust holes, everything that looks ok when poked with a pointy thing can have holes pushed through it, its all inside out rusting and almost all under the car, under the ecu and air filter boxes, behind arch liner etc.
The body panels are good though, not sure about the doors and front wings as I never got them but the rear quarters, bonnet, door shuts and roof are all rust free even though the paint has all come off.

I think in the summer I will pick the car up and stand it on its tail, section the chassis and cut open all cavity parts, cut open the double skin floor pan (foot wells are double skin with a 30mm gap between) and get lots of photo's we can use for reference when steering the cavity wax nozzle about, it will also show where you should be drilling the chassis for access to wax with all those closed sections like the foot wells and sill outriggers.

Before actually scrapping the shell, I'd be tempted to cut the rear quarter panels off.

Oh im cutting the rear quarters off, well drilling the spot welds out, im going to drill out any rust free chassis panels and store them, may well save a future accident damaged car.
