XM suspension

Would anyone be able to advise where I could get a set of suspension spheres for a 93 Citroën XM saloon?

Do you need new spheres, or the ones you have need recharging?

What is the Rp number. Xm went from Hydractive 1 to Hydractive 2 in February 1993, which also meant a change in spheres.

I will follow up on that contact, I think I need new ones alright. The ones I have are rusty and old looking.

The external condition is not relative to the internal condition.
The only way to check sphere health is to use a sphere pressure tester, but bounce testing the car can give a good indication.

Stationery, with the engine running, does the car have any suspension travel when bounced hard at each end?

Where are you located, there may be someone with a sphere pressure tester near you.

Sorry to slightly hijack this post but I have an lhm leak. I know one is from the pump..the part at the front left of engine. Is it repairable, ie O rings etc. The other leak is halfway back, a bit square I think...us it the height corrector? Is that also repairable. I take it I would have to release pressure first? Many thanks boys, help appreciated. Richard

All leaks are repairable, but, to avoid randomly replacing things, you really need to be pretty definite about exactly what is leaking.

A really good clean is the starting point, and for this you will need degreaser, and a hose (ideally a pressure washer). Modern spray-on degreaser (pressure packs available from auto spares shops/motor factors) is effective and very convenient, albeit more expensive than the old paint-on variety. A pressure washer (or at least a hose with a high-pressure nozzle) is very valuable for blasting off the loosened mixture of oil & deagreaser - just keep it away from major electrical & electronic components.

Once you have it clean, it will be much easier to pinpoint the source of the leak. Beware however - LHM likes to drip onto something longitudinal like a pipe, wire or chassis rail, run some distance along this "linear feature", then drip somewhere quite unconnected with the original leak.

As said, all leaks are repairable, all Citroen hydraulics components can be refurbished.
Clean thoroughly and see where the oil is leaking from.

We need to know what version Xm you have and in particular the engine type, as that dictates where hydraulic components are mounted.
At a guess, your descriptions are for the pressure regulator, which has pipe seals and then only two O rings as seals. It could the flow distribution valve, if the car is a sinker, which again uses O rings as seals.
Don't forget rubber return pipes can split and leak.

The square item under the car...do you mean barrel shaped, could be a height corrector, which utilise rubber end caps as the seal. There is no internal seal.
