Perhaps it's because pictures of cars do tend to look better when it's neither raining, or hailing. Wait until August 5th and 12th, I've heard the sun might actually come out...
Just as a recommendation, paint the upright glazing bars in primer then satin black for the full "band of glass" look.

That is Mandarin Nacre pearlescent. Code EJV.
Doom Maroon on dull days, but a lovely, iridescent red on sunny ones.

Thanks Will, I couldn't see any sparkle in the pics, and phone screens can't be relied upon for colour accuracy - it looks almost like Delage Rouge on my phone
